    Lifetime Hobbies

Reading Novels: A partial and evergrowing list of my favourite writers: Joseph Heller (Catch-22), Kurt Vonnegut (Sirens of Titan), Fyodor Dostoevskii (The Brothers of Karamazov), Jorge Luis Borges (Fictions), Harper Lee (To Kill a Mocking Bird), Joseph Conrad (Lord Jim), Kingsly Amis (Lucky Jim), G.K. Chesterton (The Father Brown Series), Ross MacDonald (The Lew Archer Series), Sue Townsend (Adrian Mole Series), Genichiro Takahashi (Elegant and Sentimental Japanese Baseball) and, finally, Seok-Je Seong (So Said Hwang Man-Geun) (in no particular order).

Listening to Music: 70's rock music (including The Led Zeppelin and The King Crimson), 80's pop music (including The Pet Shop Boys and The Smiths) and opera (including La Boheme (the Karajan, Pavarotii, Freni CD), Le Nozze di Figaro (the (father) Kleiber, Siepi, Gueden CD), and The Fantom of the Opera (I know, I know. It's a musical)).

    I am

the owner of a presonal library containg approximately 1000 books and of a personal LP/CD collection of roughly 500 items (mostly harmless, often useless, and sometimes helpless) (Yes, I am also a fan of Douglas Adams);

more or less exactly failed to be, mentally and financially, an audiophile (a part of my stereo system consists of a decade old Aura VA50 and Celestion 5 Mk II).
